How it works
1. Pick a letter and fill in the form.
Choose a payment reminder, a dispute letter or a scope-of-work letter. Add the details, such as who it's to, what happened, the amounts and dates, and what you're asking for.
2. FilePlainly drafts it.
- Payment reminders are built from fixed templates on our server. They never go to an AI service.
- Dispute and scope-of-work letters use AI (OpenAI) to write the explanation in plain English. The amount, date and reference-number fields are filled into your letter by FilePlainly's own code and are never sent to OpenAI. Anything you type into the description boxes, including any numbers or names, is sent to OpenAI to write and check the explanation.
3. Every sentence gets checked.
A second AI pass reads each drafted sentence. If a sentence states something you didn't give us, it's taken out of the draft and listed below it with the reason. That includes a fee, a deadline, a consequence, a percentage, or a number or amount the AI made up. You decide: leave it out, or click Put it back.
4. You review, edit and send it yourself.
The draft is fully editable. Copy it or print it. FilePlainly never sends anything for you, and it doesn't save your letter.
Limits during the free beta
- 3 letters per day, any type (payment reminders count too), resetting at midnight UTC.
- A short pause if many requests come in within a minute.
- If a draft fails, it usually won't count against your daily limit (up to 3 failed drafts a day are given back).
- The AI feature may be unavailable for the rest of the month if the service reaches its monthly budget.
A reminder: FilePlainly drafts letters; it doesn't know the law where you live or the details of your agreement. Read every letter before you send it. For anything with real stakes, talk to a qualified professional.
